Leona Lewis, Cher Lloyd and One Direction are just some of the names you’ll be seeing appear in the UK Charts and hearing on loop over the airwaves in coming weeks. Since the X Factor started seven years ago both the industry and public opinion has been divided and the concept heavily debated. Some praising the show for uncovering hidden talent whilst others think it’s the easy path to stardom. Love it or hate each year the charts are crammed with the winners and even losers singles.

Last year’s winner Matt Cardle is set to return with his second single after his debut release went to number one last December. The single is called ‘Run for your Life’ and despite Matt telling the X Factor judges and audience he is a singer songwriter this second single has been written by Gary Barlow, lucky Matt. As always the X Factor winner is releasing his next single in time for the live shows over the coming weeks.

But the X Factor chart takeover doesn’t stop there; the younger acts are at it too. Last week One Directions debut single ‘What Makes You So Beautiful’ went straight to number one and Cher Llyod is due to release her new single ‘With Your Love’ on 30th October 2011,her follow up single to her top ten hit ‘Swagger’.

The chart battle has been on-going over the summer between X Factor runners up, JLS, Cher Lloyd and Oli Murs who managed two weeks at number one with ‘My Heart Skips a Beat’ only to be overshadowed by JLS who managed to hold onto the top spot for three weeks leaving Cher Lloyd out of the race for a number 1 single.

Love it or hate the show has launched careers for many pop stars since it started seven years ago. And perhaps the biggest success story to date  Leona Lewis dubbed ‘The voice of the X Factor’ is back with her single ‘Collide’ which is now available on itunes, this is the first single from her new album ‘Glassheart’ which will be released on 28 November.

Can we see an X Factor battle for Christmas number one coming with Leona up against this year’s X Factor winner? Either way Simon Cowells bright white smile doesn’t look like it’s going to be fading anytime soon.
